Job summary

Good Samaritan Pine River is seeking a Nursing Assistant Trainee for a learning experience designed to develop caregivers who provide personal care under a licensed nurse. This hybrid program combines online curriculum with hands-on skills and culminates in state exams for CNA certification or other state credentials.

The trainee will join a nursing team, follow infection prevention standards, and support clients’ physical, cognitive, spiritual, emotional, and social needs.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required within four months of employment.
• When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
• Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, may classify as Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle license.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Work with a preceptor to deliver holistic, client-centered care that promotes independence.
• Assist with activities of daily living and basic health care needs as trained.
• Document client care when appropriate and communicate changes to the licensed nurse.

Education
