The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Nursing Assistant Trainee to enter a structured learning program to deliver client‑centered personal care under licensed nurse supervision. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compassionate care as you gain CNA credentials.

The trainee will follow state requirements, complete online and hands‑on training, and aim to pass state exams to obtain CNA certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum age 16
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
• CNA license required within four months of employment

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing)
• Support care team and document client care
• Communicate changes in client condition to licensed nurse
• Assist with transferring, repositioning, ROM, and walking
• Assist with meals, hydration, and nutritional supplements
• Provide housekeeping and light laundry duties as assigned
