Job summary

The Nursing Assistant Trainee at Good Samaritan Society is enrolled in a learning experience to develop the confidence and competence to serve as a caregiver providing personal care to clients. Under a licensed nurse's supervision, the trainee works with a preceptor to deliver holistic client-centered care safely and efficiently.

The program is hybrid, combining online curriculum with hands-on skills development, preparing participants to take state exams for CNA or other state certifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• CNA license required within four months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic health care needs and activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, undressing, and vital signs.
• Provide psychosocial support and follow care plans.
• Communicate changes in client condition to a licensed nurse and document appropriately.
