Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Graduate of an approved Nursing Assistant Training Program preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate professionally with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical patient care in a safe manner under the direction of the Licensed Nurse.
• Demonstrates competency in use of technology for patient charting and related functions.
• Assists patient with activities of daily living (showering, bathing, dressing, feeding).
• Communicates abnormal variances of data (vital signs, pain, etc) to appropriate staff.
• Collects information regarding patient condition: vital signs, intake and output, food intake.
• Participates in huddles, bedside reporting, and Service Excellence initiatives.
• Collaborates with unit staff to provide coordinated patient care.
• Utilizes unit-specific equipment competently.
• Performs unit-specific procedures as needed.
