Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA/NA) for a 100% FTE, Monday–Friday shift with 10-hour days. Start times vary 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; on-call within 1 hour including weekends/holidays.

Duties include direct patient care, ADLs, repositioning, transfers, mobility, and rounding, serving visitors and families in a state‑of‑the‑art facility. Qualifications require Wisconsin-approved CNA program; 1 year experience preferred; registry listed on hire and BLS/CPR within 3

Qualifications

• Graduate of State of Wisconsin Approved Nursing Assistant program Required
• 1 year recent experience as a Nursing Assistant Preferred
• Listed on the Wisconsin Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aid Registry Upon Hire Required
• BLS/CPR certification within 3 months Required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical care and basic nursing procedures and treatments per hospital policies.
• Assist with activities of daily living, repositioning, transfers, and patient mobility.
• Perform intentional rounding and interact with visitors, patients, and family to build trust and deliver high-quality care.

Job description

Work Schedule:

100% FTE, Monday through Friday role, working 10-hour shifts. The start time ranges between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., depending on scheduling and operational needs. There is also an on-call requirement, need to report to Hospital within 1 hour, which includes weekend and holiday rotation. On-call shifts may be day or night, again based on department needs.

Pay:

External hires may be eligible for up to a $3000 sign on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE). NA Positions include a weekend and evening/night shift differential.
