Job summary

UW Health is expanding at East Madison Hospital on the Medical/Surgical inpatient floors.

As a Nursing Assistant, you will partner with Registered Nurses to deliver direct patient care, assist with ADLs, transfers, mobility, and ECGs, and engage with patients and families to ensure compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care facility preferred.
• Certification requirements include Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry Upon Hire and CMA/TMA upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical care and basic nursing procedures as per hospital policy.
• Assist with activities of daily living, repositioning, transfers, and patient mobility.
• Perform 12-lead ECGs and assist with routine nursing tasks.
• Interact with patients and families to establish trust and ensure quality care.
• Collaborate with Registered Nurses on inpatient Medical/Surgical floors.

Work Schedule :

30% FTE positions available . Evening/Night: 7:00pm-7:30am. Likely Friday/Saturday nights every other week. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department.

Pay :

• UW Health offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Work experience that is relevant to the position will be taken into consideration when determining the starting base pay.
• This position may be eligible for a $900 sign-on bonus (pro-rated on FTE).
• Additional components of compensation may include:

  • Weekend differential

Nursing Assistant (CNA, NA)

• We are expanding services at East Madison Hospital on the Medical/Surgical Inpatient floors!
• Be a supportive partner with Registered Nurses on an inpatient Medical Surgical unit and provide care to both medical and surgical patients.
• Provide direct physical care and basic nursing procedures and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. You'll assist with activities of daily living, repositioning, transfers, patient mobility, and intentional rounding and performing 12 lead ECGs.
• Interact and engage with visitors, patients, and their family members to establish a trusting relationship to provide high quality care.
