Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a 16-hour per week Day Shift position to support physicians and provide compassionate patient care across a range of conditions. The role includes ADLs, patient transport, specimen collection, and distribution of supplies.

Requires high school diploma, BLS, and CT-approved CNA training; BA in Nursing/Health Sciences with clinicals or related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CT-approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning BA in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience as Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred.
• Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Collect and report patient information and data.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, diet, fluids, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation.
• Patient transport and collection of specimens.
• Distribute linens and supplies to patient rooms.
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients.
• Monitor patient safety with at-risk individuals as assigned.

Description

Position Purpose

At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What you will do

• Collect and report patient information and data
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation
• Patient Transport
• Collection of specimens
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients
• As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check
