Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Surgical Nursing Assistant-OR for part-time weekend coverage. The role supports the Surgical Services Department across Perioperative areas, with duties including basic patient care, safe transport, and assisting in procedures under RN supervision.

The training schedule runs Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 3:30pm for 3 months, followed by a transition to weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or completion of first year of nursing program with clinical validation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team in providing high-quality patient care.
• Provide basic physical care and safe patient transport.
• Transport patients using stretcher, wheelchair, and beds per policy.
• Perform tasks per hospital policy and aseptic technique.
• Assist in Surgical Procedures and basic circulating functions under RN direction.
