Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 5B unit, a 22-bed medical/surgical unit focused on women’s health, oncology, gynecology and palliative/hospice care. Under the direction of an RN, you will provide direct patient care, support services, and carry out selected nursing tasks to assist in examination, treatment, and overall patient well‑being on days as a PRN role.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification or completion of first-year nursing clinical with validation.

In addition, 5B provides post-operative care for plastic surgery and general surgery patients.JOB SUMMARY:Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and support services to patients and families. This role performs selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and overall care of patients.REQUIREMENTS:-High School Diploma or equivalent-Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.-Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
