Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital seeks a Nursing Assistant for the Float Pool on the night shift. The role involves bedside care, monitoring vital signs, assisting with meals and patient transport, and supporting teams across units.

On-site work required with rotating weekends and holidays. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, Nurse Assistant certification or BSN program with clinical rotations, current BLS, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Be an Advocate, a Care Taker, a Friend to Patients. Nursing Assistant – Nursing Float Pool – Full-time – Nights at New-York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist. Certified nursing assistants thrive at the bedside as invaluable care providers. Together, we serve as critical points of contact for patients and their families.

Be a true partner with Nurses, Technicians and more. Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients, while ensuring the delivery of meals and safe transport. Bring your smile to work. Infuse energy and hospitality into a patient's day. Provide comfort and caring as a certified nurse’s aide at NYP-keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care. Float to all units in the hospital such as Med-Surg, Critical Care, Psychiatry, Emergency Department or where needed.

This a full-time night position (11:45 PM-7:45 AM). New-York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, 3 weekends a month and rotating holidays required.

Preferred Criteria

• Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience as a nurse’s aide in a hospital.

Required Criteria

• High school diploma or GED.


• Certification from an approved, accredited Nurse Assistant training program or current enrollment in a BSN program & completion of at least 1 clinical rotation.


• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.


• Excellent communication and customer service skills.


• Basic computer skill.
