Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support physicians and deliver compassionate patient care across diverse medical conditions.

You will collect data, assist with daily living activities, transport patients, collect specimens, and help with supplies while monitoring safety for at-risk patients. Requires a high school diploma, BLS, and healthcare experience consideration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed or significant healthcare experience.
• Proof with college transcript required or significant nurse assistant/healthcare experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous acute care nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Collect and report patient information and data.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Provide patient transport.
• Collect specimens as needed.
• Distribute linens and supplies to patient rooms.
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients.
• Monitor patient safety with at-risk individuals, as assigned.

Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift

Description: At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What you will do

• Collect and report patient information and data
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation
• Patient Transport
• Collection of specimens
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients
• As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check
