Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant for a full-time, 36-hour week on the 12-hour day shift. You will assist physicians and care for patients with diverse medical conditions, reporting data and supporting daily living activities.

Responsibilities include patient transport, specimen collection, linen distribution, and ensuring patient safety for at-risk individuals. BLS certification is required; drug screening and background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous nursing assistant experience in acute care preferred.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.

At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What you will do

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check
