Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support physicians and care for patients across a range of medical conditions.

You will collect patient data, assist with daily living activities, transport patients, collect specimens, and help maintain a safe, clean environment. This full-time role includes a 12-hour day shift with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or better.
• Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in progress of earning BA in Nursing or Health Sciences with at least one clinical.
• Significant previous healthcare related experience may substitute.
• BLS certification required.
• Pass drug screen and background check.

• Collect and report patient information and data.
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation.
• Patient Transport.
• Collection of specimens.
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms.
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients.
• As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check
