Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support physicians and provide compassionate patient care across a variety of medical conditions.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, collecting and reporting patient information, transporting patients, and supporting staff. A high school diploma and CT-approved Nurse Aide Training are preferred; BLS certification is required. This is a full-time, 12-hour day shift with benefits from Day 1.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CT-approved Nurse Aide Training preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing/Health Sciences with clinical completed or significant healthcare experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience in acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and report patient information and data.
• Help patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, diet, fluids, skin care, bathing, dressing).
• Assist with positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation.
• Transport patients and deliver samples, ice, beverages as needed.
• Distribute linens and supplies to patient rooms; monitor patient safety with at-risk individuals.

Description

At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What You Will Do

• Collect and report patient information and data
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation
• Patient Transport
• Collection of specimens
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients
• As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience
• Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check
