Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support physicians and care teams with a variety of patient conditions. You will collect patient information, assist with daily living activities, and transport patients as needed in a busy hospital setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and prior CNA experience is preferred. You must pass a drug screen and background check; full-time with weekend/holiday shifts is expected.

Responsibilities

Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift Description: At Saint Francis Hospital the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

What you will do

• Collect and report patient information and data
• Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation
• Patient Transport
• Collection of specimens
• Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
• Deliver ice and beverages to patients
• As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check
