Job summary

Select Medical’s Select Specialty Hospital – Erie is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN/per diem shifts in Erie, PA. The role offers 12-hour shifts with compensation of $21.00 per hour, and provides an extensive orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the unit.

The position supports a busy post-ICU care setting, with opportunities for advancement and eligibility for a 401k after meeting stated criteria.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience.
• Nursing assistant certification or related field experience.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing using basin-less products and assist with oral hygiene and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs and other instruments.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
