Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis East in Memphis, TN is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for full-time night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The role supports patient care and daily living activities within a critical illness recovery environment, with a focus on compassionate, high-quality service and teamwork.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (or related experience), and BLS within 90 days of hire. Preferred candidates will have hospital CNA experience and certification.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks including bathing with basin-less products, oral hygiene, feeding, and hair care.
• Partake in hourly rounds to monitor patient needs.
• Transport patients and assist with movement as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment and keep rooms orderly.
• Manage unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
