Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Jackson is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate daily patient care on the 12-hour night shifts. You will perform bathing, oral care, mobility assistance, vital signs, and transport support, while maintaining clean rooms and equipment as part of a collaborative clinical team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients and personal care with basin-less methods.
• Provide oral hygiene and oral feeding support.
• Assist with mobility and transfer of patients.
• Transport patients to treatment areas as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, instruments and equipment.
• Conduct hourly rounds and ensure stock levels are maintained.

Compensation: $16.00 to $19.51 per hour

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
