Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Gulf Coast in Gulfport, MS, is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for day shifts on 12-hour rotations. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, daily bathing and hygiene tasks, hourly rounds, and safe patient transport within a recovery hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing using basin-less methods and assist with oral hygiene and hair care
• Participate in hourly rounds and monitor patient needs
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist movers with stretchers or wheelchairs
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and ensure equipment is properly stored
• Stock and replenish unit supplies as directed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Location: Gulfport, MS

Schedule: 12-hour shifts - 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Day Shift, 12-hour)

Compensation: $15.30 - $18.65 per hour (based on experience)

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
