Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in St. Charles, MO is hiring a Nursing Assistant (NA) for full-time day or night 12-hour shifts. Compensation ranges $19-$23.17 per hour plus a $1.50 night differential and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

The role includes direct patient care, rounds, transport, and maintaining a clean, organized unit. BLS required within 90 days; HS diploma or 3+ years of related experience. Extensive orientation, RN scholarship, tuition reimbursement, and a clinical ladder support ongoing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-less methods.
• Perform oral hygiene and basic care for hair.
• Take hourly rounds and respond to patient needs.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with moving patients in/out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment (bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs).
• Keep patient rooms clean and stocked; monitor unit supplies.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
