Select Specialty Hospital in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Nursing Assistant for full-time night shifts. You will provide essential patient care, including bathing, grooming, and daily activity support, while maintaining a compassionate, respectful approach.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bathing patients using basin-less methods and assisting with oral hygiene and feeding.
• Participate in hourly rounds and respond to patient needs.
• Assist transporters in moving patients in stretchers and wheelchairs as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment and keep patient rooms tidy.
• Keep stock levels of supplies as directed and perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Full-Time Night Shift (12-hour shifts)Compensation: $18.00 - $21.94 per hour, depending on years of experience

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
