Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Rochelle Park, NJ is hiring a Nursing Assistant (NA) for a full-time day shift (7:00AM-7:30PM). Compensation ranges from $21 to $25.59 per hour with a $2,000 sign-on bonus, based on experience.

The NA will assist with bathing, rounds, patient transport, and maintaining clean, stocked patient rooms and equipment. BLS within 90 days is required; 3+ years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: hospital experience as NA or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing for patients using basin-less methods and assist with oral care.
• Conduct hourly rounds and respond to patient needs.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with transfers.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and patient rooms; restock supplies as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
