Select Specialty Hospital - Macomb in Mt. Clemens, MI is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the night shift (7p–7a). The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, including bathing, feeding support, and rounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: hospital experience as a nursing assistant or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care including bathing with basin-less methods and assisting with oral hygiene and feeding.
• Conduct hourly rounds to check on patients.
• Transport patients to treatment areas and assist with moving patients in stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment (bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs).
• Keep patient rooms clean and organized.
• Monitor and replenish unit stock of supplies and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair

• Participate in hourly rounds

• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs

• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs

• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition

• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)

• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
