Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital NW Detroit is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN/Per Diem night shifts in NW Detroit. The hospital provides critical illness recovery inpatient care, supporting patients through challenging healing journeys.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification required, related field experience acceptable.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient bathing using basin-less products and oral hygiene care.
• Assist with hourly rounds and rounds around the unit.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist movers with stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position: Nursing Assistant (NA)

Schedule: PRN/Per Diem, 12-hour shifts - night shift

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair


• Participate in hourly rounds


• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs


• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs


• Keep patients' rooms in clean and orderly condition


• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed


• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)


• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)


• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
