Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Springfield seeks a Nursing Assistant (NA) for a full-time day shift in Springfield, MO. You will support patient bathing, hygiene, feeding, and mobility, and participate in hourly rounds to ensure safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience (3+ years).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing using basin-less products and provide oral hygiene.
• Assist with oral feeding and care of hair.
• Perform hourly rounds and transport patients as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms and cleanliness of instruments and equipment.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
