The University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a Medical/Surgical unit. This full-time position works 1.0 FTE with a rotating schedule, including holidays, and may vary by department.

You will support registered nurses, assist with activities of daily living, and perform basic nursing procedures while engaging with patients and families to ensure high-quality care in a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care facility preferred.
  • Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide Registry in Wisconsin required upon hire.
  • CMA or TMA certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist RNs on an inpatient Medical/Surgical unit with direct patient care.
  • Perform activities of daily living, repositioning, transfers, and basic nursing procedures.
  • Conduct 12-lead ECGs and monitor patient mobility as assigned.
  • Engage with patients and families to provide compassionate care.

  • This position includes a sign on bonus of up to $3,000. (pro-rated on the FTE of the position)
