UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin invites applications for a Nursing Assistant (CNA) on an inpatient Medical Surgical unit. The CNA provides direct patient care, assists with activities of daily living, patient transfers and mobility, and performs ECGs as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care facility preferred.
  • Licensed as a Nurse Assistant in Wisconsin; CMA/TMA certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Be a supportive partner with Registered Nurses on an inpatient Medical Surgical unit and provide care to both medical and surgical patients.
  • Provide direct physical care and basic nursing procedures and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, repositioning, transfers, patient mobility, and ECGs.
  • Interact with visitors, patients, and their family members to establish trust and provide high quality care.

Work Schedule

Full time, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week. Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00am-7:30pm. Wednesdays and Fridays 7:00am-3:30pm. Holiday rotation required. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department.

Pay

UW Health offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Work experience that is relevant to the position will be taken into consideration when determining the starting base pay.

  • This position includes a sign on bonus of up to $3,000. (pro-rated on the FTE of the position)

  • Provide direct physical care and basic nursing procedures and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. You'll assist with activities of daily living, repositioning, transfers, patient mobility, and intentional rounding and performing 12 lead ECGs.
