Job summary

Lexington VA Health Care System is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the Community Living Center. The incumbent will work under the Patient Care Services, supporting nursing care and basic procedures in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• US citizenship or eligible for VA employment
• Six months general experience or one year education/training related to NA
• Proficiency in spoken and written English as per VA standards
• GS grade determinations require knowledge, skills and abilities for nursing assistant duties

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care and routine nursing tasks
• Obtain vital signs and monitor patient status
• Perform simple wound dressings and collect specimens as directed
• Support delivery of patient care in Long Term Care/community living settings
• Coordinate with health care team and communicate patient needs
