Job summary

Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse. You will assist with daily activities, hygiene and mobility, and help maintain a safe, clean patient environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year nursing assistant experience within past five years or completion of listed trainings.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination and nutritional needs.
• Provides routine treatments and maintains a safe, clean environment.
• Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self and team.
• Ensures patient privacy, rights and confidentiality.
• Follows standard precautions and hand hygiene between patients.
• Assists with admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Records vital signs and documents patient information per policy.
• Communicates patient status and safety concerns to RN or team.
• Participates in handoff reports and hourly rounding.
• Delivers exceptional service to patients, families, customers and team.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Nursing Assistant Program

CNA certification (Florida)

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Graduate from nursing program

Medical Corpsman/EMT/Paramedic

Foreign licensure

1 year healthcare experience
