UNC Health in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Nursing Assistant I for a part-time, night shift position on the Rex 6 West Orthopaedics unit. The role provides routine patient care under direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician in a 30-bed orthopedic unit. This role requires NC CNA licensure, BLS, and ideally 6 months of NA experience.

Salary ranges from $17.60 to $24.29 per hour, with benefits and internal equity considerations. Work is onsite with a 24-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English language.
• Able to develop basic computer skills.
• Basic patient care knowledge and duties as described in the plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• Aid in psych care: orientation, therapy support, de-escalation, and safety monitoring.
• Observe and document patient information and report changes to RN/physician.
• Assist with admission, orientation, and discharge processes.
• Provide care and treatments per plan of care: vitals, wound care, ROM, glucose checks, etc.
• Assist with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation.
• Support area operations: cleaning, restocking, transport, and clerical tasks.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute educational materials.
