Stony Brook University is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant I/II for the Psychiatric Acute unit on the night shift. Under RN supervision, you will support patient care, monitor vital signs, document care, and assist with daily living activities to maintain a safe and respectful environment.

Qualified candidates will have at least one year of full-time patient care experience; NYS CNA license or CNA program certification is preferred along with a high school diploma or GED.

Formación

• One year of satisfactory full-time patient care experience under professional supervision.
• Preferred: NYS Certified Nursing Assistant license or CNA training program certification.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Change dressings, administer enemas and simple treatments as directed.
• Apply hot/cold packs and compresses as directed.
• Chart and document care and/or patient information.
• Take temperatures, pulse, BP and respiration.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care.
• Assist with feeding to ensure proper nutrition.
• Provide hygiene care and grooming.
• Maintain patient rights, dignity and confidentiality.
• Possibly perform routine housekeeping duties related to patient care.
