Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care under licensed nurses. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient comfort, and help with basic tasks in a busy hospital environment.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and basic computer skills to chart patient information. Training Programs and CPR certification preferred; prior hospital experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an approved Nursing Assistant Training Program preferred.
• Prior experience as a Nursing Assistant in a hospital setting may substitute education.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate professionally with patients, family, peers and medical personnel.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be emotionally stable, adaptable to change and able to exercise independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical patient care under the direction of the Licensed Nurse.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (showering, dressing, feeding, etc.).
• Communicates abnormal data (vital signs, pain) to staff.
• Collects information on patient condition, vital signs, intake and output.
• Participates in huddles, rounding, bedside reporting, and PI initiatives.
• Follows hospital safety policies and collaborates with staff to ensure coordinated care.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Certified Nursing Assistant performs various patient care activities and related non professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients They also assist the professional and technical nursing staff by performing any delegated duties specialized procedures and assists with care of seriously ill patient

SUPERVISION

Reports directly to Nurse Manager andor Charge Nurse

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
