Job summary

Veterans Health Administration is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support licensed nursing staff across care settings for preventive to hospice care. The NA will assist in implementing care plans, monitor patient conditions, and participate in education and mentorship of peers.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide a range of patient/resident care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to supervisor.
• Communicate with patients, families and the care team.
• Properly use equipment and supplies for basic procedures such as glucose monitoring and basic nursing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to veterans with complex needs.
• Document care provided and patient responses.
• Assist with activities of daily living and nursing procedures.
• Support treatment planning meetings and patient education.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and report hazards.
