Job summary
isha is seeking a Nursing Assistant to perform daily living activities and provide care under supervision. The NA will support patients with acute to chronic conditions and contribute to treatment plans and recovery.
The role requires English proficiency, adherence to care standards, and the ability to operate basic medical equipment with supervision. Training and mentorship are available within a clinical team environment.
Qualifications
- Six months of general experience
- Education above high school with relevant nursing-related courses OR specialized NA training (less than 1 year)
- May qualify under Grandfathering provision for current VA employees
- Gradations: GS-03 entry level with close supervision; GS-04 requires 1 year of specialized NA experience; GS-05 requires 1 year of progressive experience and specific KSAs
Responsibilities
- Appropriately utilize glucose monitoring to collect and document readings
- Maintain a positive therapeutic relationship with patients and families
- Observe patients for changes and report to supervisor
- Assist with nursing care under supervision and support the care team
- Set up and operate basic patient care equipment
- Record and report patient data for care plans
- Respond to emergent situations and assist with basic life support as needed
