Job summary

Regency Hospital Northwest Indiana in East Chicago, IN is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA/NA) for PRN/Per Diem 12-hour shifts (day or night). Compensation is $20.00 per hour plus shift differentials; a $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Responsibilities include bathing, hourly rounds, patient transport, and maintaining clean rooms and equipment. Requirements: high school diploma or 3+ years related experience; CNA certification or hospital NA experience; BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years).
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant).
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
