Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to provide safe basic care, including taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and monitoring patients for changes.

You will document observations in patient charts, communicate with the care team, and may supervise patients as needed. OSF offers shift differentials, education assistance up to $5,250 annually, and flexible scheduling to support school.

Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred.
• CPR certification (AHA HealthCare Provider) required or preferred.
• High school diploma or GED.

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Uncertified Nursing Assistants can be considerred for starting rate of $17.00/hour.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED Experience (Required for Uncertified Nursing Assistants)
• 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
• 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
