Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) to deliver safe basic care, take vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and collect specimens. You will document in charts and coordinate with the Patient Care Team to ensure continuity of care.

The role requires CNA certification and CPR/BLS, with a preferred High School Diploma or GED. Eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus with a one-year commitment, and shift differentials apply for 3rd shift

Qualifications

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant license/certification required.
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS certification required.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe basic care to patients, including taking vital signs.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and specimen collection.
• Observe patients for physical and emotional changes and report findings.
• Record information in patient charts and communicate with the care team.

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS:

• 3rd Shift: $2.25/hour
• Weekend: $1.75/hour

SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE!

• $2,000 Sign On Bonus with a 1-year work commitment.

• Must be of legal age to sign a contract, which is at least 18 years old, to be eligible for a sign on bonus. Candidates under 18 years old may still be considered for the position but are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licenses/Certifications: CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• Other Licenses/Certifications: CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
