Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by performing vital sign checks, assisting with patient hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean, safe unit environment. The role includes stocking supplies, operating hospital equipment, and performing clerical tasks as needed across Orange and Irvine locations.

Ideal candidates will read, write and speak English proficiently, hold or be enrolled in a CNA/LVN program with clinical hours, and have current BLS

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (issued by the AHA).
• Approved workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Taking and recording vital signs.
• Assisting patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintaining a clean and safe unit environment.
• Assisting with stocking unit supplies and operating hospital equipment.
• Performing routine clerical tasks and other related duties as assigned.
