Job summary

UCI Health, part of the University of California, Irvine, seeks a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by performing vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean, safe unit environment. You will help stock supplies, operate hospital equipment as directed, perform routine clerical tasks, and take on related duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will have basic medical terminology knowledge, be able to read/write/speak English, and hold

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (issued by the AHA).
• Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or enrolled in nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.

• Taking and recording vital signs.
