Job summary

UCI Health, a leading academic health system, seeks a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in patient care. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a safe unit environment.

You will help stock supplies, operate equipment as directed, and perform routine clerical tasks as part of a collaborative team. The role requires reading, writing and speaking English, BLS certification, and prior patient care experience,

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English
• Current BLS certification upon hire (must be issued by the AHA)
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting
• Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or enrolled in accredited nursing prog. with completion of at least 1 clinical semester

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies.
• Operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks.
• Assist with other related duties as assigned.
