Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in patient care. Primary duties include taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, and keeping the unit clean and safe.

You will also stock supplies, operate equipment as directed, and perform routine clerical tasks. Candidates should understand basic medical terminology, be fluent in English, and be available weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or enrolled in accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in acute care.
• Nursing Assistants hired before May 2010 without CNA certification are not required to obtain it now.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic manner.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Approved workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities
