UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional and technical nursing staff by performing vital signs, assisting patients with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean and safe unit environment.

Additional duties include stocking unit supplies, operating hospital equipment as directed, and performing routine clerical tasks; you may be asked to float between Orange and Irvine locations. Must read, write and speak English and hold valid BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Able to float between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
• Must read, write and speak English effectively.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse, or enrolled in an accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification issued by the AHA.
• Required workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
