Essentia Health seeks a patient care assistant to provide direct, supervised care under RNs and nurse managers. Responsibilities include hygiene, nutrition support, comfort care, vital signs, and safe patient transfers.

You will work with day, evening, and overnight shifts, with a preference for overnight availability. Training to obtain BLS within 1 month is required, along with basic nurse aide certification or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• BLS certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date.
• At least 6 months of patient care experience or completion of one semester of clinical rotations.
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program.
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care under supervision to ensure safety and comfort.

• Take and record vital signs, report changes to RN.
• Transfer and position patients safely; maintain clean, safe environment.

Job Description:

Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies. Along with organizes, and implements the non-nursing functions of assigned unit(s) to facilitate workflow, enhance unit productivity, and provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff. Position promotes efficient unit function and indirect resident care. Performs clerical and reception duties; requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed; assist with scheduling.

Education Qualifications:

BLS certified or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Must meet ONE of the following requirements:

• 6 months of patient care experience
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

Work Schedule:

This position will work the following:

• 48 hours per 2 week
• Every Other Weekend
• Rotating 8 Hour Shifts
• Day Shift: 7:00AM - 3:30PM
• Evening Shift: 3:00PM - 11:30PM
• Overnight Shift: 11:00pm - 7:30AM
• We are looking for someone to mostly want to work Overnight Shift

$1500 for eligible candidates with work Commitment
