Job summary

Essentia Health in Fargo, ND is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assisting with hygiene, nutrition, comfort, transfers, and vital signs, while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

The role requires CNA preferred or registered Nurse Assistant within 3 months, BLS within 3 months, night shifts 11:00pm-7:30am, 24 hours per week, every other weekend and holiday, with a straight night premium and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• CNA preferred; if no CNA, must be registered as Nurse Assistant within three months of date of employment.
• BLS certification required within 3 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care and assist with nutritional needs.

Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Education Qualifications:

This position requires the ability to work the following schedule:

• 24 hours per week
• 8 Hour Night Shifts (11:00pm-7:30am)
• Every Other Weekend
• Every Other Holiday
• Straight Night Premium paid on top of base wage

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Certificate / Licensure

Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health preferred, if no CNA, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within three months of date of employment.

BLS certification required within 3 months after hire.

Certification Requirements:

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from date of hire.
