Job summary

Crouse Health in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide daily patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

This full-time position offers rotating 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, with weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401k.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of patient care experience or RN program with fundamentals completed is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained by hire or within two weeks after hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with daily care activities including bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulating, personal hygiene and taking vital signs.
• Supports achievement of patients' goals as indicated by the plan of care.
• Communicates with patients and families in a compassionate, clear, and respectful manner.

Nursing Assistant Position Responsibilities

• Assists the patient with daily care activities including but not limited to bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulating, personal hygiene and taking of vital signs.
• Supports and actively contributes to the achievement of the patient’s goals associated with the plan of care.
• Individualizes communication based on the needs of the patients and families.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have one year of patient care experience, or is currently attending an accredited Registered Nursing program and has successfully completed the fundamentals of nursing coursework.
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire date.
