Job summary

Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant to join the inpatient surgical team. The PA will provide first assist services across General Surgery and related services, and participate in night and weekend call schedules.

Salary ranges from $125,000 to $155,015 per year, with full benefits including medical, dental, vision, FSA and retirement plan. Requires NY licensure and accredited PA program completion.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• BLS certification required at hire or within 2 weeks.
• ACLS certification required at hire or within 3 months.
• AHA Stroke Certification part A within 1 month; part B within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and obtains comprehensive history and physical exams.
• Performs hospital rounds and writes notes.
• Orders and performs routine diagnostic procedures; interprets labs.
• Develops and implements treatment plans; monitors therapies.
• Participates in the surgical night/weekend call schedule.

The Surgical Physician Assistant works within a multi-physician inpatient hospital setting and provide first assist services primarily, but not limited to the General Surgery Service. Salary:$125,000 - $155,015 / year

Responsibilities:

The Surgical Physician Assistant assesses patients; obtains comprehensive history and physical exams; performs hospital rounds and write notes; order and perform routine diagnostic procedures; order and interpret routine laboratory values, develop and implement treatment plans; monitor therapeutic interventions; provides instruction and counseling to meet the patient and floor staff needs as well as institute and change orders as directed by the supervising physician. This candidate will participate in the surgical night/weekend call schedule.

Job requirements:

• Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at the time of hire of withintwo (2)weeks after hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required at the time of hire or within three (3) months after hire.
• AHA Stroke Certification part A required within one (1) month of employment; part B required within six (6) months of hire date.
