Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks an experienced nurse leader to manage and coordinate nursing care for assigned patient groups, ensuring service excellence and alignment with hospital missions.

The role requires a BSN, current state or compact licensure, and BLS certification within 30 days. Four years of nursing experience with at least two years in management is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing required.
• Current unencumbered licensure with WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses or applicable state board.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Advises the Director on hiring, retention, interviewing and recruitment of staff.
• Maintains personnel records.
• Develops and delivers ongoing educational programs for staff including orientation and continuing education.
• Provides feedback on job performance and counsels staff as needed.
• Monitors budgets and expenses; justifies variances to the Director.
• Develops budget recommendations for cost centers annually.
• Ensures efficient utilization of time, materials and staffing to support patient care.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses and others to resolve issues promptly.
• Supports quality improvement teams and participates in staff communications.
