Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee nursing care for assigned patient groups, ensuring alignment with institutional standards and mission. The role involves directing staff, coordinating educational initiatives, and maintaining effective communication with physicians and other departments.

The incumbent will supervise recruitment, manage personnel records, and participate in budget planning to ensure cost-effective operations while promoting high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state where services will be provided.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Four (4) years nursing experience with at least two years in management.
• Specialty certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Advises the Director on hiring, retention, interviewing and recruitment of staff.
• Maintains appropriate personnel records.
• Develops and implements ongoing educational programs for staff and new employee orientation.
• Provides feedback on performance, coaches and disciplines staff as directed.
• Monitors budgets and explains variances to the Director.
• Contributes to annual cost center budgeting and staffing efficiency.
