Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s Weill Cornell Medical Center is seeking a Nurses Aide for the Medical Surgical Nights - Float Pool. You will support bedside care, monitor vitals, assist with meals, and help with safe patient transport while collaborating with nurses and ICU technicians.

This full-time night shift requires on-site presence with rotating weekends/holidays. At least one year of CNA experience and current CPR certification are required, along with a High School diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Nurse’s aide experience in hospital setting required or CNA training program completed.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR training from the American Heart Association required.
• At least one year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor blood pressure, temperature, and other vital signs.
• Assist with meals and safe patient transport.
• Provide comfort and compassionate care at the bedside.
• Collaborate with nurses and ICU technicians as part of the care team.

Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.

This is a full time night shift position. Includes rotating weekends and holidays.

Preferred Criteria

• At least one year of experience as a certified nurses aid.

Required Criteria

• Previous Nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing, at the junior year level or had completed at least one clinical practicum.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association required.
