Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital is seeking a Nursing Attendant I for the Float Pool on the Night Shift. You will work bedside with nurses and ICU technicians, monitor vitals, assist with meals and safe transport, and bring energy and hospitality to each patient’s day.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and current CPR training; prior nurse aide experience in an acute care setting is preferred. Shift is 11:00pm–7:00am, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR training from a recognized program required.
• Experience as a nursing aide in acute care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
• Assist with meals, transportation, and patient comfort.
• Provide compassionate care under supervision of a registered nurse; aid in patient flow.

Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. The shift for this position is 11:00pm - 7:00am, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Criteria

• At least 1 year of nurse’s aide experience in an acute care setting

Required Criteria

• High school diploma or GED
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association
• Must meet one of the following: previous nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting, certification from an approved accredited nurse aide training program, or current enrollment in a BSN program

Salary Range:

$24.60-$26.46/Hourly
